WhatsApp brings a minor update to the app for its verification system. It replaces its old green badge with a blue checkmark for verified business accounts and channels. Meta believes that the Blue badge will bring complete trust and authenticity to WhatsApp users as it does for Instagram and Facebook.
This approach helps any verified brand gain recognition and allows other users to engage with them confidently. Currently, the update is rolled out for iOS users who use WhatsApp’s latest beta version, 24.16.10.72, through the TestFlight app. If you are an Android user who participated in the WhatsApp Beta program, you can expect this change in the 2.24.14.18 update.
Amidst the change, some non-beta WhatsApp users reported that they could still view blue badges for businesses and channels. This indicates that WhatsApp will soon bring this feature to all users worldwide.
