Microsoft recently announced that it is going to remove the Paint 3D app on November 04, 2024. The company also confirmed that the app will be replaced by the classic Paint. This sudden decision is not a surprise as they have already initiated this by removing Paint 3D from the pre-installed apps list in 2021. Currently, it notifies users with a banner stating that the app won’t be available or no longer receive updates.
Even though the app doesn’t come built-in, you could still download Paint 3D from the Microsoft Store for free. Nonetheless, this app failed to grab attention from users who like using the classic version of Paint.
In the past few months, Microsoft has brought many updates, including the AI-powered feature, Cocreator. This feature is exclusively available for Microsoft Copilot users. It helps to create pictures from scratch or remove backgrounds that you don’t like.
Microsoft Paint is still a favorite for many users due to its easy-to-use interface. We can expect more updates and exciting features from the company. It cannot compete with advanced photo editing apps like Adobe Photoshop and GIMP since it is available for free on Windows with basic functions.
