Do you have motion sickness? It gets worse when you are using a smartphone while traveling. Apple has introduced a new feature called Vehicle Motion Cues, which helps you reduce motion sickness while using devices on travelling. This feature has been rolled out to iPhone and iPad with the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta update respectively.
Note: The beta version may contain bugs. Hence, it is advisable to back up your iPhone before downloading the iOS 18 beta.
How Do Vehicle Motion Cues Work?
Generally, while driving or traveling, you will feel motion sickness because there will be a sensory conflict between what your eyes see and what your body feels. This will get worse for some users while using smart devices.
To reduce motion sickness, Apple has made animated dots to appear on your iPhone screen to help your eyes see the movement of what your body feels. With the sensors built into the iPhone and iPad, it will automatically recognize the user in a moving vehicle and respond accordingly. You can manually turn on or off this feature or let it turn on automatically when you are in motion.
