Sarah Bond, Microsoft’s president, revealed that the company will soon launch an Xbox Mobile Store and a website. In a press release, she said that they are currently working on a dedicated store for Android and iOS. A new webpage for the store clearly confirms it will arrive shortly, and Google Play Store gets a new competitor.
The trial release is expected to test with popular games such as Candy Crush and Minecraft. Later, they may test games released by other third-party developers and announce the exact release date.
If you joined the Xbox Insider Program, you might have noticed a “Coming Soon” message about the launch of the Xbox Mobile Store. While Xbox has not yet made an official announcement to date.
This brave move from Microsoft after acquiring Activision Blizzard is a clear plan to enter the mobile gaming market. Despite the dominance of existing app stores on Android and iOS, they should think wisely to compete with the market.
