- On your iPhone, open the Phone app → Make a call → Click the Record icon → Tap Continue → Access the recorded calls in the Notes app.
The iOS 18.1 developer beta has brought the much-awaited call-recording feature to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. Right from the call interface, you can record calls without the help of any third-party apps. The recorded phone calls will be saved to the Notes app. Apart from listening to the recorded audio, you can get a full transcript of the call.
How to Record Phone Calls on iPhone
Note – This feature is currently available with iOS 18.1 developer beta version. Installing the beta version on your iPhone may bring various bugs to your device. So back up your device before installing it.
1. Go to the Phone app on your iPhone.
2. Start a call, and tap the Record button (audio waves icon) on the top-left.
3. Then, click the Continue button.
4. Now, both the dialer and receiver will be notified with a voice message saying, “This call will be recorded.”
5. Upon disconnecting the call, the recording will be saved on the Notes app.
Where to Access the Recorded Calls on iPhone
You can access the recorded phone calls from the Notes app on your iPhone. The new Apple Intelligence will automatically create a written transcript for the recorded calls which will also be found on the Notes app.
You can view the full transcript of the recorded calls. If you are looking for important points, you can generate a short summary of the written transcript. You can customize the transcription in multiple languages.
This is how you record phone calls on your iPhone. Even though it currently supports only 15 series, it is expected to support other 12 series & higher models. We can find out once the standard version of iOS 18 rolls out in September.
