After unveiling AR for call effects in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.16.7 update, the platform is now working on another new assignment to enhance the user experience. The Meta-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp, is now focusing on quickening reaction time by introducing the double-tap reaction feature to messages, as reported by WABetaInfo. It also reports that this segment is still under development and will be public in the near future.
This new media reaction feature enhances the interactions between users by quickly reacting to texts, images, videos, and GIFs instantly without holding the message. Users can now double-tap the message directly to express their emotions via emojis.

Meanwhile, WABetaInfo also declares that,
Point of View!
As of now, the double-tap feature is under development and will be released in the future beta WhatsApp update for Android users. On the other hand, the double-tap react feature is already available for iOS users and can be used in another way. While you double-tap, the reaction tray will pop up, from which you can choose an emoji for a quick reaction. We hope that the quick double-tap reaction for messages will soon be available for iOS users, too.
