Generally, you can only send messages and not schedule on your iPhone. But, it is possible with the latest iOS 18 update which is available from September 2024. You can schedule a message to deliver on the scheduled date and time on your iPhone.
This feature was packed up with the iOS 18 update. If you wish to test this feature, you can download the iOS 18 beta on your iPhone.
How to Schedule Text Messages on iPhone
1. Open the Apple Messages on your iPhone.
2. Choose the existing textbook or create a new message.
3. Before sending the message, click the + icon on the text field.
4. Click More or scroll down and choose the Send Later option.
5. Select a date or time to schedule a message.
6. Tap the Send button to send the message on the scheduled date or time.
7. Once done, the scheduled message will show up on your iPhone screen with a dotted-line bubble in the thread.
8. Tap Edit to modify the text, change the date or time, or change the recipient. You can also delete the scheduled message.
If you have trouble scheduling a message, restart your iPhone and try to schedule a message again. If you are using iOS 18 beta, there might be bugs on your device upon installing the beta version. Downgrade your iPhone from iOS 18 beta to iOS 17 to resolve the problem. You can enjoy this feature later with the official release of iOS 18.
